NAGAR’s Ward-Level Solid Waste Management Study assessed how waste is handled across Mumbai’s municipal wards to identify gaps and strengthen on-ground systems. Surveying 23 ward offices, the project documented existing practices and challenges, and developed practical recommendations and standard operating procedures to improve service delivery. The study also proposed clearer strategies for managing bulk waste generators, offering a framework to support more efficient, decentralised, and accountable solid waste management across the city.
