NAGAR

NAGAR proposed a People–Public–Private Partnership (PPPP) model to support the Swachh Bharat mission by strengthening citizen participation in Solid Waste Management. Drawing on the opportunities created through platforms like MyGov, NAGAR aimed to develop a practical, scalable framework for Mumbai that aligned with local needs and ward-specific conditions. The organisation reviewed Central and State policies, analysed ground realities across the city, and actively collaborated with citizens, government authorities, NGOs, and waste-processing agencies. Through this integrated approach, NAGAR worked toward reducing landfill burden, creating public assets from waste, improving visual cleanliness, and promoting the principles of reduce, reuse, recover, recycle, and rethink.
