Following the Supreme Court’s directions in Yash Developers vs. Harihar Krupa CHS (Civil Appeal No. 8127 of 2024), the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court constituted a special Bench to examine the implementation of the Maharashtra Slum Areas Act, 1971, and ensure accountability in slum redevelopment across the State. NAGAR filed an Interim Application to intervene, citing its long-standing work in urban development and open space protection. It submitted suggestions on the first of seven issues identified by the Supreme Court, specifically, the identification and declaration of land as a slum.
